For All Mankind has reportedly been renewed for a record (for Apple, at least) fourth season, according to a post on the Writers Guild of America webpage.

The sci-fi show, which is based in an alternate history in which the global space race continued, wrapped up its second season in April 2021. The second season was accompanied by a podcast by Apple titled For All Mankind: The Official Podcast.

The Writers Guild of America page notes that series creator Ronald D. Moore will continue to work as show runner as he has since season one. Moore, Ben Nedivi, Bradley Thompson, David O. Weddle, Matt Wolpert and Nichole M. Beattie will all remain on as executive producers. Season four production is currently pegged to take place in 2022 and 2023. That would likely mean debuting in late 2023 or early 2024.

Apple hasnt been particularly open when it comes to data regarding Apple TV+ shows. While it occasionally shares stats, as it did about the recent season two debut of Ted Lasso, these tend not to include hard numbers of viewers or subscribers. During Apples earnings call yesterday, the company said that Apple now has 700 million subscribers across its various platforms. This is up from 660 million one quarter ago. However, Apple did not reveal how many of these were Apple TV+ subscribers.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the first season of For All Mankind has 492 user ratings, while the second has 319 (although bear in mind that the second season has been around for far less time.) By comparison, Ted LassoandThe Morning Show widely considered to be Apple TV+s most popular series have, respectively, 759 user reviews and 1,659 reviews. Not every viewer will review every show they see, of course. However, as a sample of the population it suggests thatFor AllMankindis popular, although not quite up there with the top Apple TV+ shows.
