Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s dad posts cryptic message amid fears among Arsenal fans striker will leave this summer
Arsenal fans’ fears of losing star forward Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang will have only grown following comments made by the player’s dad.
Aubameyang, 31, has failed to agree a contract extension with the Gunners. His deal expires next summer.
So naturally speculation surrounding his future is mounting with the likes of Barcelona being linked to him.
The Gabon international bagged a brace during Arsenal’s final day victory over Watford to take his Premier League goal tally for the 2019/20 season to 22.
However, he narrowly missed out on winning the Golden Boot for a second straight season with Leicester frontman Jamie Vardy scoring 23 in the league.
Aubameyang’s dad, Pierre-Francois, congratulated his son on Instagram for his efforts in the season but also left a very cryptic message surrounding his future.
He wrote: “My son, who wouldn’t be proud to have a son like you. Bravo, bravo, bravo.
“You really are a scorer. Every season you respond with your efficiency, last season 22 goals, this season 22 goals.
“I can only congratulate you and tell you once again my pride.
“We must make the right decision for the rest of your career.
“They speaks a lot in the press, they do not know that we are Bantu and that there is a hierarchy the decision is taken after the advice of the wise man who is your father.
“We will be set very soon, sleep peacefully my son, your father watches the grain. I love you.”
Arsenal may be forced to cash in on Aubameyang as the upcoming window will represent one of the final chances to avoid losing him on a free.
However, fans may take some encouragement from the club’s official Twitter account teasing a potential new contract.
The post was an image of Aubameyang celebrating one of his goal against Watford accompanied by the writing hand emoji.
It was captioned: “Signing off with a W!”
