FC Koln striker Jhon Cordoba is pushing for a move away from the Bundesliga outfit, as has been reported by German outlet Bild.

It is suggested that the 27-year-old requested not to start in their DFB Pokal match against Altglienicke, as his head was not in the right place due to negotiations with other clubs.

He was included on the bench, but didn’t make it onto the pitch as Koln cruised to a comfortable 6-0 victory.

The striker, who is James Rodriguez’s compatriot – though has not represented the Colombia national team – is the centre of interest from Hertha Berlin.

There are also various English clubs said to be looking to sign him, with Everton being the only one that is named within the report.

Would Cordoba be a starter at Everton?

If he were to join the Toffees, Cordoba would likely offer competition to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Moise Kean to earn a place in the frontline.

This comes off the back of a season in which he recorded 13 goals and two assists from 23 Bundesliga starts and six substitute appearances, helping Koln to safety during their first campaign back in the Bundesliga.

Hertha may have leverage over Everton in negotiations, as Koln are interested in signing the Berlin club’s playmaker Ondrej Duda.
