US Has Enough ‘Highway Sound Barrier’ Walls to Protect the Entire Southern Border Nearly One and a Half Times
The US has enough highway sound barriers (walls) to protect the entire southern border nearly one and a half times.
The US Bureau of Transportation reports that in 2019 the US had 3,332 miles of highway sound barriers (walls) in place around the country.
One report describes the sound barriers created next to US highways as such:

The concept of the sound barrier and how it works is remarkably simple. In fact, it is one of the simplest solutions in the entire field of acoustics. It is a wall: a hard surface made of wood, concrete, brick, or other reflective, strong and durable material.
These walls protect Americans from unwanted sound. They are different but similar to the walls that President Trump wanted along the Southern US Border to protect Americans from illegal aliens entering the country illegally.
CNN reported on the length of the Southern Border and the Souther Border wall in December 2018:
The United States’ southern border with Mexico is 1,933 miles long, stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the tip of South Texas.
Some 700 of those miles have fencing in place.
In early 2020, the far-left Washington Post shared that the barriers on the southern wall were actually 650 miles long.
The southern U.S. border has about 650 miles of barriers that take a variety of forms. In more-urban areas, tall “pedestrian” fences are in place to stop people from crossing. In remote areas, the government uses “vehicle barriers” made from old railroad tracks. In mountainous areas and long stretches that follow the Rio Grande, there is no man-made structure.
But Democrats and RINOs did all they could to prevent the building of a wall along the Southern Border. Congress will build walls to protect Americans from highway sound but won’t give a dime to protect Americans from illegal aliens, some of which have criminal pasts.
