In the quest of getting the best of the best in the current smartphone market which has been saturated with many smartphones, the companies are releasing phones that are concentrating on camera, battery, or processors.

Vivo which is one of the famous brands in the smartphone market and had supported even the Indian Premier League over the past years has released a new smartphone which is concentrated on Battery and Camera.

The Vivo V20 which is priced at 24,990 INR is built for the Indian smartphone market and has all the recent updates and changes has now been released and you can check out the tech specs and reviews in this blog.

Design and Build

Vivo V20 looks premium built with aluminum sides and glass back. At this price, this is the slimmest smartphone on the market with just 7.38mm thick. The display of the phone is 6.44 inch which is near to the newly released Pixel 4A. The display is optimum which can be used in one hand.

On first look, the Vivo V20 comes with an edge-to-edge look with a waterdrop style notch and has a frosted glass back. It has 3 cameras at the top left corner and a 3.5mm headset jack, power plugin, and microphone slot at the bottom.

Display and speakers

The Vivo V20 has a large 6.44 inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and can support Full HD+ resolution and is compliant with HDR 10. However, compared to other smartphones yes some of the popular mid-range phones has a larger display but Vivo kept it pocket-friendly and provides the best views in its compact screen.

The colors of Vivo V20 are punchy and you can every text with details with the display. However, the refresh rate of the phone is a bit low compared to OnePlus or any other phones. It uses an in-display fingerprint scanner and unlocks swiftly. The phone does a good job here compared to other devices.

The phone supports mono-speakers yet the speaker is very loud and one of the best to listen to your favorite music.

Specification and Software

 Vivo V20 runs with Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC and comes with 8GB RAM, although not a powerful processer with the 8GB RAM, the performance is not an issue. There are 2 phones released which have different internal memory The 128GB storage version is cost-friendly which is priced at 24,999 and the other is 256GB which is priced at 27,990 INR. The phone supports extendable memory.

Vivo V20 comes with Android 11 with its version called FunTouch OS 11 which is patch on Google Android 11. The security patch on Vivo V20 is fairly recent and the UI was user-friendly. The phone does come with bloatware which is common among the phones with do not come with stock android.

There is 3 navigations button by default and you can switch it up as per your preference. You can also change various animations of the UI. The lock screen images of Vivo V20 are got from the internet by default.


Vivo V20 comes with a 4000mAh battery which is small compared to V19. However, you can stream and work on the phone for the whole day. You can stream youtube, OTT players, browse on the internet, play games or listen to music and the battery will last for the whole day.

The device is shipped with a 33W charger which is fast charging and charges 0-100% in one hour. One good thing is Funtouch OS11 does not have much bloatware which can consume battery.


One of the striking features of the Vivo V20 is its front camera or selfie camera. The front camera is a 44MP camera which comes with Auto-focus that you can find in DSLR’s and Mirrorless Camera. The front camera can capture crisp images, the front camera put details on the subject and showcases the overexposed background. With a front camera, you can capture portrait pictures and the AI will detect face swiftly and even the low-light selfies have good details.

The back of the Vivo V20 features 3 cameras with the main 64MP primary camera and 8MP and 2MP secondary cameras. The 8MP camera is capable of macro photography. The shooting modes of the phone are well laid out where you can tap the lens icon to take super-wide-angle, bokeh, or macro shot.

Photos shot on bright sunny days turned out to be crisp and clear but sudden indoor photography turned out to be a hassle but can capture a decent quality of the image. The low light image also turned out to be good and when you enable night mode, the image will turn out to be good. It takes 4-5 seconds to process images in night mode.

Close-up shots of the subject turn out crisp and clear with less noise but have a slight depth effect in the background. The super-wide lens of Vivo V20 can capture macro shots beautifully. There is a beautification option that is enabled by default and when you capture portrait photos skin tone will be smooth.


With the budget, Vivo V20 is one of the best smartphones to purchase, if battery and camera are your main areas of interest in purchasing a new phone then Vivo V20 is a go-to phone.
