When will iOS 15 Public Beta be Released?

0 3

Now that iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 are in developer beta, many users understandably want to know when the more widely available public beta of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 will become available.

While nobody knows the exact date of the public beta release for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 (and MacOS Monterey for that matter), we do know what Apple said during WWDC, which is that the public beta programs would start in July.

So, July is the expected rough release date of iOS 15 public beta, along with public betas for iPadOS 15, and MacOS Monterey. These versions of system software are currently in developer beta, which technically anyone can sign up for via the Apple Developer program, but developer beta releases are often much buggier and less stable than even public beta builds, so they should be avoided by most.

Of course July is a long month, so when exactly in July will the public beta become available for anyone to join? That is less clear, but if the past is any indicator, then it’s reasonable to expect early July to be the release date.

If you’re interested in running the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 public beta on your device, you’ll want to check compatibility to make sure the iPhone is supported or the iPad is compatible with the system software. If the device was able to run iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, then it’s a good bet it can run iPadOS 15 / iOS 15 as well.

Next you’ll want to go to beta.apple.com to sign up to be be alerted about when the public beta is announced.

Once the public beta starts, you’ll download a profile to your device allowing you to install iOS 15 beta or iPadOS 15 beta.

When the beta period is over you’ll be able to update to the final version of iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 too, which is set to be finalized in the fall.
